Antoine Griezmann has been a player with great composure for the last few seasons. It is due to his brilliant performances that Atletico Madrid is in this year’s Uefa Champions League Semifinals.
However, Griezmann has been repeatedly linked with a move away from Vicente Calderon, with his most likely destination to be England. Arch rivals Manchester United and Manchester City both have got their offers ready for the French forward to come to their teams.
Manchester United has been on the trail of the 26-year-old player for the last few seasons. Jose Mourinho has been trying to bring the French forward to Old Trafford by all means possible to end the dismal performance by his strikers in the attacking third. It has been rumoured that inspirational captain and record goal scorer for Manchester United Wayne Rooney might be on his way out after this season and Antoine Griezmann will be the perfect replacement for the outgoing club legend.
Now, with renewed interest from arch rivals Manchester City, the race to get hold of the prized Frenchman has been the current talk of the town. It is also being rumoured that the man with the second highest goal scoring record in the Premier League this season, Sergio Aguero from Manchester City, might be shown the door by new club manager Pep Guardiola. Guardiola, reportedly, is hailing Greizmann more for his all-around abilities other than scoring goals and is looking to sign him for the next season. The Argentine striker, meanwhile, might find it difficult to stay back at the Etihad stadium under the coaching of the Spaniard.
Antoine Greizmann is having the time of his life while playing both for his club and country. The 26-year old has an incredible left foot, which he uses to unleash vicious shots on the opponent’s goal. He also has the ability to make darting runs into the rival defence and can juggle with the marking to score goals at will. With 15 goals for Atletico Madrid, the ardent David Beckham fan might be a prized possession for both Manchester City and Manchester United.
The French forward being in his prime, and both City and United looking to make him a part of their new line-up in the forthcoming season, the clubs might have to shell out some serious amount to secure his services. Now it is to be seen whether Antoine Griezmann looks for a move or stays back with his old club for more seasons to come.
