Luke Shaw, the star defender of Manchester United has been out of favour under Jose Mourinho, the current club manager. In a recent interview, Jose Mourinho came out publicly and stated his dissatisfaction about the England left back’s alleged lack of commitment on the field.
This has created a bit of rift between the Portuguese mastermind and the England international, on which the other teams are looking to capitalise and get the left back out of Old Trafford in the new season.
Although after enduring 120 minutes on the pitch against Anderlecht in Manchester United’s last outing in Europe, Shaw seemed to have regained some of that lost faith from Mourinho, with the latter praising his dedication despite picking up a cramp.
However, the situation between the two still being tumultuous, teams like Manchester City, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspurs are eyeing the 21-year-old England international to sign him for the next season. The city rivals of the Red Devils look to be the frontrunner in the race.
With Gael Clichy, Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna, all out of contract in the next season, City boss Pep Guardiola is in search for a pair of fresh legs in the left back position and Luke Shaw completely fits his bill.
The young left back already has some useful experience under his belt, with almost 100 matches to his name apart from some prized outings in the World Cup.
Luke Shaw‘s abilities are good enough to earn him a place in any top club in the world. Apart from his darting runs along the wing, the Englishman has the uncanny ability to burst into the attacking third with his mesmerising dribbling skills, as well as provide crosses for his teammates in front of the goal.
The Reds boss Jurgen Klopp and Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino are also looking for reinforcements for their backline and have made Shaw their primary target for the next season. However, it is totally dependent on the defender and the club’s will to let him go.
Klopp has been playing Milner at the left back for sometimes now, and will definitely like to get someone with the experience in English and European football like Luke Shaw to get in his team for the next season.
Pochettino has the experience to coach the England left-back in his early days at Southampton, and will definitely eye a reunion with him in the forthcoming season.
