Leeds United have dented their aspirations of booking a ticket to the playoffs as they squandered a chance of getting all three points against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Elland Road as they were defeated by a 1-0 score line by Paul Lambert’s side. Currently placed 7th on the league table after the loss, they have fallen behind Fulham and the business end of the season is really taking a toll on them.
Leeds United Players Rated And Slated After Their Loss Against Wolverhampton Wanderers
Robert Green 7/10
Green had a decent outing and cannot really be blamed for Nouha Dicko’s goal. The veteran goalkeeper kept the Whites in the game by making good saves, including the one after the mess created by Bartley and Jansson.
Luke Ayling 6/10
Though he wasn’t prolific whilst going forward, he was composed at the back and didn’t succumb to the tension which was created.
Kyle Bartley 5/10
Without any shadow of a doubt, it was one of his worst performances in the Leeds United shirt and was eventually replaced by Taylor in the 63rd minute.
Pontus Jansson 4/10
Despite being generally looked upon as a trusted comrade in Monk’s backline, Jansson struggled throughout the game. Imperfect tackles and error-prone attitude barely helped the Peacocks.
Gaetano Berardi 5/10
He failed to cope up with the pace which was generated by the attacking endeavours of the visiting side and never really settled in the game.
Liam Bridcutt 4/10
Bridcutt was unsuccessful in being the midfield engine for his side. He Lost possession far too often and didn’t look assured with the ball.
Kalvin Phillips 4/10
Stuck in his own half, Phillips failed to make shrewd passes as the dire need of having a calm orchestrator for Leeds United was longed on the pitch.
Kemar Roofe 6/10
Roofe did show occasional signs of turning the tables in favour of the West Yorkshire based club but didn’t have the requisite support from his teammates to carve damages for Wolves.
Pablo Hernandez 5/10
He couldn’t really fetch anything substantial to the lone striker as his creative edge was lacking. Leeds United’s attacking midfield really needs to be sorted.
Alfonso Pedraza 6/10
Pedraza did make a lot of effort and put efforts by going forward but could really go past the Wolves’ defence and produce a killer ball into the box.
Chris Wood 6/10
It would really be unjust to point our fingers at Wood owing to the clear lack of quality deliveries to him from the wingers as well as Hernandez and frankly speaking, the Kiwi international was pulled was left isolated more often than not.
Substitutions
Hadi Sacko 5/10
Tried his part of injecting pace and ruthlessness in the final third but his final product was missing once again.
Charlie Taylor 6/10
Was brought on to replace Berardi and straightaway cultivated an attacking think-tank. Taylor should be starting against Burton Albion.
Souleymane Doukara 5/10
Doukara did create some havoc with his mazy runs but then, he failed to generate a proper goal scoring opportunity.
