Barcelona need to repeat their last round’s miraculous performance once again versus Juventus if they are to come back in the second leg. Nobody would have expected that the Catalans could concede three goals against Juventus.
Barcelona showed the way as they overturned a 4-0 deficit to win the second leg 5-1 against Paris Saint-Germain. But Juventus are not PSG and they probably have been the best defensive side in the world football right now.
Barcelona’s front three are capable of overturning the deficit and the onus will be on them but opponents have now figured out their plans and if Juventus stick to their plan it would be difficult for Barcelona to stage a comeback.
Barcelona last welcomed Juventus in 2003 at the Camp Nou and the away side went on to win the tie 2-1 with goals from Pavel Nedved and Marcelo Zalayeta. The home side will have the backing of their crowd who have gone through a tough time recently.
Predicted 4-3-3 Barcelona Lineup Against Juventus
Defence
Marc-Andre Ter Stegen has to use his showmanship what he has been building throughout the season. Barcelona haven’t been able to keep a clean sheet in most of the matches and the German international will have to at his very best as any goal would kill the tie there itself.
Defence
Gerard Pique and Samuel Umtiti will be the two central defenders as Luis Enrique will most probably go with a four-man defence.
Sergi Roberto has been guarding the right side of the Catalans side this season and will once again try to protect from his right back position.
Jordi Alba is a definite starter in the left back position.
Midfield
Enrique will have Sergio Busquets back to the starting lineup who missed the 3-0 bashing in the first leg as he was suspended. Enrique will deploy his usual midfield trio to give the mighty Juventus a hard time.
Juventus are very dangerous on the counter and Busquets needs to be pretty solid to nullify these counters.
Ivan Rakitic and Andres Iniesta will be ready to go and they have to make a mark if they want to advance to the next stage.
Attack
If Barcelona are to create history, MSN needs to fire. The trio of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar already influenced a comeback in the last round and they need to put their all effort into this match.
