Marco Silva has turned around Hull City’s form and could ensure them a spot in next season’s Premier League if they beat Southampton. It would open a five-point gap with Swansea City provided they lose their match against Manchester United.
Hull have to find a way to end their awful away form and have to start from the scratch against Southampton. Hull have collected three points from the last four home matches and but have failed to find that form away from home. In Southampton, they have a much-unexpected opposition who have not performed to their capabilities this season. In the last fixture, the Saints lost 2-1 when they visited the KCOM Stadium.
The Saints will have an upper hand as they haven’t lost their last four home matches against the Tigers.
Predicted 4-2-3-1 Hull City Lineup Against Southampton
Defence
Eldin Jakupovic will have to play a huge role in this match. Southampton have some excellent attackers with the likes of Shane Long and Jakupovic who could be the difference between the two clubs.
Harry Maguire has been on top form so far and he would be at the heart of the defence.
Andrea Ranocchia has given a number of impressive performance since his loan move from Inter Milan and he will be complementing Maguire in the defence.
Andrew Robertson has been consistent with his performance and will start in the left back position.
Ahmed Elmohamady is expected to retain his place and should start on the right side of the defence.
Midfield
It is not going to be an easy match and Alfred N’Diaye has to keep the balance to give them a stability in the midfield.
Samuel Clucas will try to recapture his form and he needs to provide the steel in the midfield.
Attack
Kamil Grosicki has the pace and versatility to thrive in this type of game and Silva would definitely take a chance by introducing him to the starting lineup. Grosicki was pretty good against Watford and needs to continue his form.
Lazar Markovic hasn’t done justice to his quality so far. The Ex-Liverpool winger showed flashes of brilliance in the last match and will take the right flank in a hope to build on his form.
Abel Hernandez will start just behind the main striker. He will try to make those delayed runs into the box to create pressure on the Saints defence.
Oumar Niasse has his three-match ban overturned and will start in this match.
