The mercurial forward Romelu Lukaku has been linked with a number of heavyweight clubs like Manchester United and Chelsea, and they are ready to offer some eye-watering figures to acquire the service of the Belgian striker. Currently, on top of the goal scoring chart in the Premier League, Lukaku has been also rumoured to be linked with a move far from England to the Santiago Bernabeu.
With the situation almost out of hand, the man in charge at Goodison Park, Ronald Koeman has reportedly opted for a suitable replacement for the Belgian star. He is targeting to bring in the mercurial striker Willian Jose from the Spanish side Real Sociedad. If everything goes as per plan, Everton fans might have to think of a new anthem to cheer for the Brazilian forward.
Willian Jose has been under constant watch from the Merseyside team. Personnel from both the team have met a few times with each other to reach an agreement over the transfer of the forward to Goodison Park. Everton has been so desperate to sign the 25-year old that they are ready to break their transfer fee record till date. An amount of £28million was the most money paid by Everton to secure the services of Romelu Lukaku, and the same amount has been offered to the Spanish La Liga side for transferring the long desired marksman Willian Jose.
However, Real Sociedad has asked for £33million as the release clause for the Brazilian forward. Willian Jose has been instrumental in his team’s wins and has scored 11 goals in 28 appearances so far along with three assists for his fellow teammates to score this season. Now it is to be seen whether Everton bows down to the demand of the Spanish club or sticks to their position over the transfer fee allotted to acquire the forward.
Everton boss Ronald Koeman has been a great guide for the players of his, and Romelu Lukaku is no stranger to that. Ever since the former Barcelona player has joined the Merseyside team as manager, he has been working tirelessly to not only strengthen their foothold in the Premier League but also make them a side capable of taking on the international oppositions in the European competitions.
The move of Willian Jose from Real Sociedad to Goodison Park can be considered to be a big step in that direction and is something which is likely to get the fans excited.
