With mercurial forwards like Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley linked with some of the big clubs in the Premier League, Everton is looking to bring in fresh faces in their line-up for the next season. One of these new players that can be seen donning the Everton colours next season is the highly rated winger from French side Lyon- Rachid Ghezzal.
The Algerian has been one of the players to watch out for during the current season. Lyon has been looking to keep hold of him, but reportedly the midfielder has denied signing a new contract with the French side. Meanwhile, Everton is looking to rope in the winger on a free transfer from Lyon for the next season.
Everton is very much interested in Rachid Ghezzal, who can turn out to be a key player for the Merseyside team. In fact, the Toffees have tried to get the 24 year old at their disposal for the last couple of seasons, but have been denied by the lack of interest from the French side. However, this time around, their attempt to bring in the midfielder to Goodison Park might finally see some light.
The 24-year old midfielder is known for his charismatic appearance in the midfield. Playing mostly as a winger, the Algerian has scored twice in his 12 appearances this season for the French side. He is known for his darting runs into the attacking third and threading key assists for his teammates. His impeccable through balls and skills to dribble with the ball can run riot in the opposition defence. He is also very good in scoring from set pieces and has a tendency to take shots from long range. However, Ghezzal is not so good in aerial duels and does not have a very good finishing.
Lyon has tried their level best to keep the midfielder with them for years to come, but Ghezzal does not seem to be interested in staying with the French club anymore. In fact, reports claim that he is preferably eyeing a move into the English Premier League.
Since the time of his arrival, current Everton coach Ronald Koeman has been a key factor behind the Merseyside team becoming successful in the Premier League this season and have looked at ease against all the teams. Now the Dutch mastermind is eyeing success in European competitions, for which he is depending on a rush of young blood into Goodison Park. From the current scenario of the transfer market, it seems that the Algerian midfielder is a vital part of his plans for the forthcoming season, and so securing his services is crucial for the Toffees.
