It will be a make or break game for Leeds United when they take on Norwich City at the Elland Road. The Whites’ outstanding season has somehow collapsed like a pack of cards and they are now in danger of not getting a place in the playoff spots.
Recent form has been a letdown for them and if they do manage to win the remaining games they will have to depend on how the other teams, especially Fulham, perform.
They are now just outside the last playoff spot in the seventh place and are three points adrift of Fulham. It would be declared as a disaster if they fail to qualify for the playoffs. They have to gather all the momentum to be at their best against the Canaries to see them go through to the playoffs spot.
Predicted 4-2-3-1 Leeds United Lineup Against Norwich City
Defence
Robert Green has been exceptional this season. The 37-year-old needs to hold the backline together and has to make sure they don’t concede any goals.
Leeds were shocked by a 2-1 loss against Burton Albion in the last match which has made the equation more difficult. Having been the captain for the last few matches, this is the right time for Kyle Bartley to use his leadership to guide the team.
Pontus Jansson has been an inseparable part of the Leeds side and will try to shield his team from Norwich’s attacks.
Garry Monk would prefer Charlie Taylor again as the young left back has been garnering praise with his performances.
Luke Ayling would make a start from the opposite side.
Midfield
Midfield has always been the most vital part of a football match. Leeds midfielders weren’t able to match up with the performance of the other midfielders which has reflected on their form. Ronaldo Vieira needs to give a push from the midfield. The youngster needs to put a barrier in the midfield to hold up the attacking playmakers of the Canaries.
Kalvin Phillips will try to secure possession in the midfield and if he does that Leeds can move the ball with sheer ease.
Attack
Leeds needs to start the attack from the first minute and for that, they need Kemar Roofe. Norwich’s defence has not been so good and Monk could use this opportunity by bringing Roofe into the game.
Souleymane Doukara has had a great influence for Leeds till now and he is expected to get a green signal in the next match.
Pablo Hernandez is a definite starter as his experience would come handy to deal with the intensity of the match.
Chris Wood has been the supplier of goals and he has to continue.
