Premier League side Bournemouth is not having the best of their seasons in the current year. They have been in the bottom half of the table for quite some time now and are looking to make key changes in their line-up for the next season.
Chelsea defender Nathan Ake is one the prime targets for Eddie Howe. Having spent a significant amount of time in Vitality Stadium during the first half of the current season on loan, Ake already has a good understanding with the Cherries boss and Bournemouth is looking to capitalise on that when they bid for the Dutch international to make him a part of their team in the next season.
Ake, being left out by Chelsea on loan, was able to spend a lot of time in the middle with the Cherries and was one of their best players throughout his tenure with the south coast club. In fact, his good show in Bournemouth earned him a recall from current Chelsea boss Antonio Conte in the later half of the current season.
However, the Dutch defender has only been able to feature in three outings for the current league leaders, all of them being in the FA Cup. He was included in the side for their semi-final clash against Tottenham ahead of club legend John Terry.
The Dutch defender has made a name for himself with his brilliant defensive abilities. Being a good blocker of the ball along with an ability to intercept passes played between opposition players effectively, the 22-year-old player has been a wall in the defence whenever given the chance.
He also likes to go up the field, threading pinpoint passes to his teammates and providing crosses for them in the opposition defence. He can also hold onto the ball as well for a significant amount of time as well. Equipped with an ability to tackle cleanly, Ake can be a prized possession for any team’s defence in the Premier League.
Along with Nathan Ake, Bournemouth is also looking to bag the out of favour goalkeeper Asmir Begovic from Chelsea as well. The duo might cost the Cherries almost £25 million as per reports, but the Cherries boss Howie is looking to go all in to land these two players from the current League leaders next summer.
Reportedly, Bournemouth had already submitted a £18 million bid for the Dutch youngster during the January transfer window to sign him permanently from Chelsea, but it was turned down the London club at that time.
