Bayern Munich continued their dominance in the Bundesliga after an emphatic win over fellow Bavarian rivals FC Augsburg on Saturday. Carlo Ancelotti’s men were imperious on the day, as Robert Lewandowski scored a hat-trick and kept his personal battle, chasing top scorer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Thomas Muller then scored a couple of goals along with Thiago Alcantara, who scored on the hour mark. Here are the Bayern Munich player ratings from their imperious 6-0 win against FC Augsburg.
Sven Ulreich: Was the stand in keeper due to Manuel Neuer’s absence from the starting lineup from injury. Ulreich had nothing really to do as his team was overly dominant.
Philip Lahm: Combined well with the other frontline attackers as usual. Spent most of the time, linking up with teammates.
Jerome Boateng: Started for the first time after coming back from injury. The German International was pretty influential from the back. Completed a decent 71 passes and made five attempted tackles, more than any other Bayern player.
Mats Hummels: Had a decent game alongside Boateng. Although the former Dortmund defender was not as much influential as his partner in defence.
Juan Bernat: Didn’t have a great day as he would have expected. Would have been much more useful, had he been more active in the buildup.
Joshua Kimmich: The 21-year old started amidst all the speculative transfer rumours. Kimmich didn’t disappoint either. Completed a whopping 134 passes with a success rate of 95%! That’s more than any other player on the field. Was equally useful in pressing phases as well.
Thiago Alcantara: Had a smashing game, the 25-year old. Thiago was absolutely stunning in the middle of the park for Bayern. Took four shots and provided one assist before getting on the scoresheet himself.
Kingsley Coman: Bayern did miss the services of Arjen Robben, who came on late. Kingsley Coman was deputising for the Dutch International but wasn’t effective on the right flank.
Thomas Muller: He has clicked every time he’s been deployed as a centre attacking midfielder. There wasn’t much difference against Augsburg either, as Muller used his spatial awareness and smart movements to instigate his sides’ offensive firepower. Got rewarded for his industrious effort with two goals.
Franck Ribery: Caused havoc on the left flank with his dribbling and pace. Ribery was too much for the opposition defence. Although some would say he could have been much more productive, managing just one assist throughout the game.
Robert Lewandowski: Simply turned on the beast mode against the poor Augsburg side. Lewandowski was one of a million reasons that cost Augsburg a 6:0 drubbing of Bayern. His three goals now steer him up along with Aubameyang as the leading goalscorers in the Bundesliga. Both are stuck with 24 goals for the season.
