After securing promotion to top flight football, Newcastle United are looking to bring in players in order to build a side that can take on the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal and current League leaders, Chelsea. Rafa Benitez has been looking to offload a number of players from the current side and bring in a rush of fresh blood to revamp the team and is looking for a significant amount of financial help from the club authorities.
Reportedly, the Magpies boss has been looking for a whopping £100 million worth of transfer kitty to invest in rebuilding the side for their next season in the Premier League. Rumours have it that the Spanish manager has even said that if he does not get the financial amenities as demanded, he will be compelled to leave the club.
However, there has been no official comment on the rumoured confrontation about the provision of the amount of demand from the club’s side. Newcastle United has also not revealed what amount they will be providing the Spaniard to rebuild the side for the next season in the Premier League.
With his future with the club in a tumultuous situation, Rafa Benitez is reportedly looking to bring in as many as seven players from various clubs. His list includes a centre back, a full back, a left winger and a centre forward along with a central midfielder who will be influential in his presence.
He is also in dire need of a good goalkeeper, but everything now depends on how the club authorities fare with his demands. The current owner of the club, business tycoon Mike Ashley is likely to hold talks on whether to hand over the charges of the transfers to the Spaniard, which he was reportedly promised when he arrived at St. James Park after being fired by Real Madrid in 2016.
The club authorities had reportedly handed their previous coach Alan Curbishley with an amount of £60 million to bring in players under his charge.
In case the 57-year old Spaniard breaks his ties with the club and looks to go somewhere else, Premier League club West Ham United is rumoured to be the frontrunner in getting him as their coach in place of current manager Slaven Bilic.
However, the Spaniard has one and half year left on his current contract with the Toons and will try to rebuild the side for his future tenure in the Premier League as a priority.
