German Champions Bayern Munich are looking to instil fresh legs in their line-up for the new season. One of their prime targets for the season is the English defender Kyle Walker who currently plays for the English club side Tottenham Hotspur.
Kyle Walker has been instrumental in making Tottenham’s current season a pretty successful one. Just four points separating them from the current Premier League leaders Chelsea, the Spurs also made it to the FA Cup semi-final against the same opponent. However, despite their valiant fighting effort, Tottenham went down by 4 goals to 2 losing their final berth to Chelsea.
Kyle Walker, despite his good form, was replaced by Kieran Trippier in the starting XI. He came on in the second half and was on the pitch for mere 18 minutes. Reportedly, Bayern Munich representatives were at the Wembley stadium to catch a glimpse of the England right back before negotiating terms with Tottenham to land Walker in the Allianz Arena for the next season.
Kyle Walker has been an integral part of a highly successful Tottenham side and has been featuring regularly in the English National Team as well. His club coach Mauricio Pochettino is not willing to go off him until his current contract expires in 2021.
The England international has played 225 games in total for his club side since his arrival at the White Hart Lane in 2009 and has a brilliant defensive record to show. Apart from his darting runs down the right wing and supplying crosses into the attacking third for his teammates to score goals, the 26-year-old is very good in winning balls in aerial duels with his opposition players. His ball interception and tackling abilities being exceptional, Kyle Walker can thread key passes in front of the opposition goal.
With club legend Phillipe Lahm announcing his retirement from club football after the ongoing season, Bayern Munich are looking for players to replace the ex-German captain in the backline. The 26-year old England international totally fits the bill of current Bayern coach Carlo Ancelotti and might become a great addition to the German champions once the deal to get him out of the White Hart Lane is finalised.
According to reports, the German club is willing to make a bid of £15.3 million to bag the English right back for the next season. It is now subject to the agreement of the player and the club to find out whether Kyle Walker will leave or stay at the White Hart Lane in the forthcoming season.
