Arsenal are currently facing trouble in keeping hold of their talisman, the Chilean striker Alexis Sanchez. The 28-year-old ex-Barcelona striker is one of the most prized possessions of the team from London but it seems that it has to make do without its premier playmaker from the next season onwards.
Nevertheless, Arsenal have already started their search for the perfect replacement of the Chilean marksman. Topping their priority list is the 21-year-old playmaker from Schalke, Max Meyer. The German International has been in mercurial form, continuously supplying pin point passes for his teammates to score goals. He has also scored one goal in his 17 appearances for the club so far.
Max Meyer is known for his possession-based style of football, keeping hold of the ball when it comes to him and distributing passes to his colleagues, creating goal scoring opportunities. His dribbling skills are also very eye-catching along with his ability to play short passes and superb ball control. It is quite clear that the Schalke fans will not like to let go of the youngster so early in his career.
Apart from Max Meyer, another likely replacement for the Chilean striker can be the Porto forward Yacine Brahimi. Reportedly, Brahimi can be the perfect candidate to replace Alexis Sanchez at Arsenal. Known for his ability to make vicious runs down the left side and through the middle, this Algerian forward can make a good pairing with Theo Walcott and Olivier Giroud in the attacking third for the Gunners.
Brahimi has scored 5 goals in 13 appearances for his club side. He has wonderful dribbling skills and is a strong player who can keep hold of the ball for a long time in the middle. Termed one of the best attackers in the modern game, the 27-year-old has been on the radar of Arsene Wenger’s side for quite a long time.
The Arsenal boss will also be wary of the fact that the German midfield marshal of his team, Mesut Ozil is yet to renew his contract with the London club. He, just like Alexis Sanchez, will be in his last 12 months at Arsenal this summer. Although there have been talks about a contract renewal with the midfield maestro from Arsenal’s side, the two have not been able to reach an agreement.
So, with the two most influential players likely to leave the team this summer, the Arsenal fans will be looking forward to having replacements enforced in their place as soon as possible. With demands becoming strong for Arsene Wenger to leave the managerial post at Arsenal, he will also look to deliver some quality players who can match up to Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.
