West Ham United have been out of form lately. Slaven Bilic’s men have found it pretty hard to win matches this season, with only 11 wins in their 38 games. The 3 times FA Cup winners have found it really difficult this season to score goals as well as defend shots that are being targeted towards their goal. Currently, they are in the 13th position in the Premier League table.
Their next fixture sets them up against one of the clubs from the top half of the Premier League table. Everton is known for playing attacking football and scoring goals against their opponents, and they have been doing that quite well in their recent matchups. With Romelu Lukaku, the highest scorer so far in this season on their side, the Toffees are looking good to win this one against a comparatively sedate West Ham side.
The conditions being this, the Hammers are relying on some of their talismanic players to pull them out of trouble against the Toffees. Three of these key players, who can play a big role in this forthcoming match are-
Jose Fonte- West Ham will be dependent on their rock at the back Jose Fonte to not concede goals against Everton. However, his form has been a major area of concern for the London Club. Still, the Portuguese defender, who was a part of the 2016 European Champion team, is being relied on by the Hammers to keep the Everton strikers like Lukaku and Barkley from scoring goals against them.
Robert Snodgrass- The midfielder has been instrumental in many match-winning affairs for West Ham. His ability to run swiftly with and without the ball and sneak in pinpoint passes for his teammates makes him a formidable force to deal with. The Scottish player can also play a part in snatching the balls from the opponents and thus keep more possession of the ball. When the occasion arrives, Snodgrass can step up the gas and score goals against the opponents as well.
Andre Ayew- The Ghanaian striker has been an integral part of the West Ham attacking lineup since his arrival at the London Stadium. However, missing chances and scoring fewer goals have plagued the ability of the ex-Swansea City forward this time around. If West Ham has to be on the top of their game in the match against Everton, Ayew will have to definitely step up and a make a mark for himself and his team on the pitch.
