Ross Barkley has been the subject of speculation in recent days with a number of clubs lining up bids for him. Most clubs have already started chalking their transfer plans and Barkley’s form hasn’t gone unnoticed. He has 18 months left on his contract and hasn’t committed his future with the Toffees.
Earlier in this month, Ronald Koeman warned that if the player rejects a new contract they would like to cash in on the player and he will be put on sale in the market. A number of clubs including the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur will flex their muscles in trying to bring the player to their respective clubs.
Two Possible Destinations For Ross Barkley
Tottenham Hotspur
The North London giants are hoping to end the season on a positive note and Mauricio Pochettino wants to carry forward this season’s brilliant form to the next season by adding some young blood to the team. The Argentine gaffer has asked his club to deal with the transfer of Ross Barkley whom he has been tracking from long back. The arrival of Moussa Sissoko has been a disaster for Spurs as the player has been far from impressive.
Barkley’s contract will be expiring at the end of next season. His current wage is around £65,000 and should he choose a move to the White Hart Lane he is set for a massive increase in his wage. Mauricio Pochettino has plenty of youth players in the ranks currently but a player like Barkley can get the best out from Harry Kane. The England international is valued at around £35 m and Spurs shouldn’t think twice before making the deal.
Arsenal
Nothing is going right at the moment at the Emirates. The Gunners are sweating over the future of Mesut Ozil who is yet to sign on the dotted line and if the player does leave, Barkley could be an alternate option. The England midfielder can defeat his opponent with his slick pace and brilliant footwork.
Arsenal already have Jack Wilshere who is quite similar to Barkley’s playing style but the player might be offloaded in the summer to make the way for Barkley. A busy summer is waiting for the Gunners supporters and the England international could be one of the new arrivals to the club. Arsenal will want to replace Wilshere if he indeed leaves with a homegrown player and Barkley with his drive and displays this season will be a perfect bonus for them.
