Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly taken interest in AC Milan’s brilliant winger, Suso, of late, as they continue to seek answers for their winger crisis. Mauricio Pochettino had hugely gambled on the summer recruit Moussa Sissoko this season, whom he had bought for a whopping £30million.
But, the French international has been a massive failure at the club managing only three assists in 17 appearances so far. The Argentine manager has to make amends for it and he considers the Spanish winger to be the answer to it. The Lilywhites have been brilliant this season as they aim for a strong finish in the second position, ahead of Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United and even Arsenal.
Strengthening their attack will undoubtedly be the first objective for the club next season. Spurs have crashed out of the European competition twice this season, first from the UEFA Champions League group stages and then from Europa League. Despite having some of the best forwards in his side, Tottenham lacks serious depth in the attacking third and Pochettino’s pathetic summer shopping last season has further exacerbated the situation.
Spurs also have their eyes on Real Madrid’s Isco and Everton’s Ross Barkley, however, the Lilywhites are surely facing a stiff competition to land them.
The 23-year-old has grabbed eyeballs with his ice-cool finishing and impeccable shooting from long range. His lethal left-foot has produced some of the most brilliant range of passing in Serie A this season. He can play anywhere across the attacking third.
And one of the biggest advantages of having him would be his Premier league experience. He has previously spent five years in England when he was with Liverpool, and though he has been quite underwhelming there, he is well acquainted with the playing style and nature of top-flight English football.
With his current displays, it can be safely said that Liverpool had failed to identify his potential back then as he was sold-off with time still left on his contract. While he was prolific in their Under-23 side, scoring 10 and assisting 12, he could only manage one goal and an assist in 23 first team appearances.
He was left shattered and it was only in the third season with the Serie A giants that he found some ground. He has scored 12 goals and 10 assists in Serie A so far establishing himself as a first-team player. And with two years left on his contract, Milan might encash on him if a good offer comes.
