Hull City are languishing in the relegation zone after having accumulated merely 21 points from 27 outings in the Premier League so far this term and have a four-point deficit with Crystal Palace. With an intense relegation battle appearing to be seemingly likely along with the subsequent drop, one of their rising stars, Andy Robertson, is reportedly likely to depart in the summer.
Marco Silva’s outfit would need to fill the void pretty soon, if the 22-year-old decides to do the aforesaid and thus, here are three gettable options which Hull City should be looking forward to signing in order to replace Robertson with.
Emilio Izaguirre
The intriguing rise of the youngster in the shape of Kieran Tierney under the tutelage of Brendan Rodgers at Celtic might have done a lot of favour to the Celts in the ongoing season but it has definitely made the veteran left-back, Emilio Izaguirre, a deputy, as far as slotting into the left-back slot is concerned.
The Honduras international has seen opportunities pretty hard to come by this season and Hull City could make full use of this opportunity to lure him to the KCOM Stadium. The 30-year-old might be out of favour at the Celtic Park-based club, but with the tenacity, work ethic and a perfect blend of offensive and defensive duties he displays every time he is handed minutes on the pitch does make him an ideal commodity which the Tigers could try to pounce upon.
Jordan Amavi
A full-back who gets forward time and again displaying far more offensive pedigree than defensive nous, Aston Villa’s Jordan Amavi could be a long-term servant of Hull City if a deal ever gets penned. The 22-year-old hasn’t had the best of seasons, because, in 24 appearances, he has created merely 18 chances, and has made 33 tackles with a success rate of 43%, 40 interceptions, 4 blocks and 84 clearances.
His days at the Villa Park seems to be numbered and a youngster who needs to develop to ensure that he makes full use of his qualities, Hull City should be an interesting project for him.
Marvin Zeegelaar
Despite being a small country if we speak geographically, Netherlands has produced many top quality players in the game and apparently, Marvin Zeegelaar is presumed to be one of the next big things. Playing for Primeira Liga side, Sporting CP, the left-back should be a decent signing to replace Robertson with if he decides to leave the club in the summer.
The 26-year-old boasts of a strong physique, is resilient and has garnered plenty of experience whilst plying his trade for Ajax, Sporting CP, Blackpool and Rio Ave.
