With only nine games left in this season, Everton needs to put the pedal on the gas to give this season an extraordinary finish. The Toffees have maintained a consistent approach to the Premier League this season under new manager Ronald Koeman. They are right now in the seventh position in the Premier League table and are fighting for a European spot.
The chances are looking very bleak as they have to face the mightiest clubs when the League resumes after the international break. They will be away to Liverpool and Manchester United but will return to Goodison Park to entertain defending champions Leicester City.
With the recent injury to Seamus Coleman, Ronald Koeman’s task would be very tough. Coleman suffered a leg break during his international duty with the Republic Of Ireland and is set to be sidelined for a lengthy period.
However, Koeman has the necessary firepower to take Everton to Europe next season.
Romelu Lukaku
The Belgian attacker needs to continue his goal scoring form to take every opportunity that comes his way. They must need to switch the battery on after the international break from where they left off. The striker is only 23 and has scored 21 goals in the Premier League already to be the top scorer. After rejecting a new contract which was pretty imminent, he scored a brace against Hull City to revive his hunger for goals and if he goes like this, a top 6 could be achieved.
IDRISSA GUEYE
The former Aston Villa player has been one of the most underrated central midfielders in the league now. He arrived at the Goodison Park last season and has been one of the most standout players to have emerged this season.
His pairing with new arrival Morgan Schneiderlin at the centre of the park has given the Toffees the much-needed balance between the defence and the attack. Gueye is one of Premier League highest tacklers and his presence in the midfield has helped the likes of Ross Barkley and Tom Davies to surge forward.
Ross Barkley
He has been consistent of late and this is after Koeman made a subtle tactical tweak and pushed him to a more attacking role thus lifting the responsibility of contributing more in defence. His physique and drive from midfield is unmatched in the League and if he can continue his form then there is a huge chance that Everton will be in a pole position to secure the 7th spot and might even push for the 6th spot come the end of the season.
