Real Madrid might have been dealt a severe blow in their summer transfer plans as one of their prime targets, Eden Hazard, has reportedly expressed his willingness to stay with the London Club next season.
After Chelsea struggled to finish 10th in the Premier league and the club failing to win anything last season, there were increasing rumours of the Belgian moving away from Stamford Bridge and Santiago Bernabeu being a likely destination. However, now with Real’s transfer ban lifted, Hazard has got back his form with the London club and is not too keen on ditching them. He had expressed his desire to stay at the club earlier this season and win trophies before leaving.
He said,
“If I ever leave, it’ll be after winning a championship. You need to go out on a high so that people remember you for the right reasons.”
Now with Chelsea within a short distance of getting their hands on the title, he is likely to give the European title a shot before leaving, it seems.
Here are 3 players Real Madrid can now opt for after missing out on him-
Marco Reus
Reus has been Borussia Dortmund’s want-away star for many years now and the German side is unlikely to hold on to the 27-year-old attacking midfielder for long. His quality and pace on and off the ball have been phenomenal and with the European heavyweights desperate for his signature, it is only prudent that he moves to a side that has a real shot at the biggest of trophies week in and week out.
He has scored six goals and assisted seven times in 15 appearances for the club despite missing the first few months of the Bundesliga season with an injury. His arrival could take Real to a totally different level.
Mesut Ozil
His time seems to be up at Arsenal. After the club’s disastrous season and the German international’s underwhelming displays, the fans and the critics are pretty much sure that he is not Premier League material. His work rate has come under heavy criticism with many linking the playmaker with a move back to Spain. Ozil beside Modric and with Ronaldo and Bale up on the wings; Real are Galacticos again.
Dele Alli
An emerging player in the attacking midfield, the Tottenham Hotspur star has been hugely impressive for the past two seasons and Real already have their eyes on the player. Only 20-year-old, the English international has some sublime shooting prowess and a brilliant eye for passes up front. Although not as highly rated as the other two, he is surely world class material. He has 13 goals in 26 premier league appearances.
