Arsenal are in all sorts of trouble now after letting go off the opportunity to get their season back on track as they fell to a 1-3 defeat at the hands of Liverpool at Anfield. They have lost 3 out of the last 4 and now welcome a fearsome Bayern Munich team to the Emirates as they look to affect a miracle and overturn a 5-1 deficit against the German leaders. It is highly unlikely and there is a strong possibility that the 2nd leg might fall into a similar pattern and in that case, the Gunners will look to avoid another embarrassing outing tomorrow.
They have on-field and off-field issues in abundance and with Sanchez being dropped for the crunch crash after a reported bust-up in training with his teammates. Arsene Wenger has a lot on his plate right now and he needs inspiration from wherever he can muster. With doubts regarding his own place and the danger of Arsenal failing to finish in the Top 4, it is indeed a tough time for Arsene Wenger and the gaffer has to come up with solutions and with his experience, fans expect him to make things right.
PREDICTED ARSENAL XI VS BAYERN MUNICH (4-2-3-1)
DEFENCE
Ospina has been their cup keeper and despite some of the scores, he has been extremely consistent. He will come prepared to face another barrage of shots and has to come up with one of his better displays to keep things under control. Hector Bellerin will be at right-back and he has to show his big game potential. The youngster has been fairly quiet since his return from injury and needs to step up. Koscielny’s substitution midway last match saw the whole dynamic change and they got thrashed. Mustafi will be his partner and has to be solid and support Koscielny well. Gibbs might get a look in after Monreal’s disappointing displays.
MIDFIELD
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is likely to get a slot in the double pivot after Coquelin’s disappointing display. He is likely to be partnered by Granit Xhaka. Arsenal have clearly struggled to get their midfield issues sorted and the recurring issue has come back to haunt them. In the No.10 position, Wenger might make a change and play Sanchez in that role.
ATTACK
On the left, Welbeck might start after his goal and Perez is likely to get a call-up on the right wing. Oliver Giroud will start up front and will look to dominate the Bayern defence in the air.
