Marco Silva’s Hull City side are surely one of the favourites to go down this season as they have failed to come out of the drop zone for some time now. They are currently in the 18th place, three points off Swansea and safety and need to find some points quickly to keep themselves in the top flight for another season. Though they beat the Liberty outfit recently, they lost to Everton in the last round and are now in search for all three points this weekend when they welcome Slaven Bilic’s West Ham United to the KCOM.
The Hammers have now picked up just two points from their last five games and are coming on the back of a loss to the Foxes. They are also severely hit with injuries and have a weakened squad for this tie. The Tigers have a decent chance of taking something from this game and the manager is expected to go for the kill on the night. Here is the team news and predicted lineup for the home side for this game:
Team News:
Michael Dawson is back in training and is expected to start this game for the Tigers. Tom Huddlestone, however, is suspended for his antics in the game against Everton. David Marshall is also on his way back to full fitness while Ryan Mason, Dieumerci Mbokani, and William Keane are all out of contention. Though not constantly fruitful, Marco Silva should stick with his 5-4-1 system for this game against the Hammers.
Defence:
Eldin Jakupovic has been the first choice for the manager this season and he should keep his place for this game. Omar Elabdellaoui on the right flank and Andrew Robertson on the left have been decent in the last few games and the manager should stick with them for this weekend. While Harry Maguire acts as the sweeper, Andrea Ranocchia to his right and Curtis Davies to his left will have major roles to play against the likes of Robert Snodgrass and Andy Carroll.
Midfield:
Alfred N’Diaye, the Senegalese midfielder has done a decent job acting as a cover for the back four while Tom Huddlestone has played around him to good effect. However, with Huddlestone out of this game, David Meyler, who was an unused substitute in the game against Everton should partner N’Diaye in the midfield.
Attack:
The on-loan winger from Liverpool, Lazar Markovic was decent at the Goodison Park and is now the first choice for Marco Silva on the flank. He should star this game on the right side while Kamil Grosicki is expected to play on the left. Abel Hernandez, who had a tough time against Everton, should lead the attack for his side and will be up against the likes of Jose Fonte and James Collins this weekend.
