Liverpool will have the chance to consolidate their position in the Top 4 as they are the only team in the Top 6 with a game this matchweek. Liverpool are on the back of a morale-boosting win over Arsenal, whom they defeated 3-1 in their last game. But immediately in the aftermath of the game, there were concerns regarding Liverpool’s chances in this week’s fixture. A home game against Burnley. The level of paranoia is understandable as they have lived up to the name of being the Robin Hood of the Premier League. They have inexplicably dropped points against all the struggling teams whereas they have defeated the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal quite comfortably.
Klopp must have learnt from his mistakes now and will surely have a proper game plan up his sleeve whilst facing Burnley. The match is of paramount importance considering the fact that they need the 3 points to keep up their chances of finishing in the Top 4, which is going to go down to the wire this season. With 6 teams with almost equal opportunities, these matches need to be won convincingly.
With no cup competition to worry about, Klopp will select his best team and logically, should be collecting 3 easy points at home.
PREDICTED LIVERPOOL XI VS BURNLEY (4-3-3)
DEFENCE
Simon Mignolet will be in goal and despite a jittery start to the season, he has established himself as the No.1 keeper ahead of Karius. Nathaniel Clyne will be at right-back and look to carry on his solid displays with a minimum of fuss. In central defence, Klopp will be tempted to pick Lovren and Matip and give them a proper restart after injuries had set them apart. The Reds will mostly be attacking and thus they need to remain switched on at the back. Milner will be at left-back as usual.
MIDFIELD
Henderson is unlikely to be fit in time which will see Can deputise in his place. Wijnaldum will get a start in midfield then while the third spot will be taken up by the impressive Adam Lallana. The trio should be more than capable of dominating the midfield.
ATTACK
Coutinho will be stationed on the left-wing and he will look to attain a degree of consistency now. Mane has been their best bet since his return and will be their main threat from the right wing. Firmino will once again be the false 9.
