Leicester City came up on top against a pathetic Liverpool side last week after the dramatic sacking of their legendary manager Claudio Ranieri, and fans would expect the defending champions to continue their revived form when they host Hull City on Saturday.
Hull City had won three points in their last fixture with Leicester City when goals from Adama Diomande and Robert Snodgrass had sealed the win. Riyad Mahrez was the only man to find the net for the Foxes. The teams have six wins each ahead of their 17th head to head encounter. Hull City could become the first newly promoted side to do the double over the reigning top-flight champion since Norwich City in 1982-83 versus Liverpool.
Team News
Leicester City- It seems like things are finally falling into place for the Foxes now. After their Champion like performance in the last game against Liverpool, the treatment table is quite empty now, which means interim manager Craig Shakespeare will have a fully fit team at its disposal.
Molla Wague is the only doubt from his dislocated shoulder injury although he has returned to training.
Hull City- Marco Silva, on the other hand, has a pretty long injury list to deal with. Among the long-term injuries include William Keane with a cruciate ligament injury, Markus Henriksen with a dislocated shoulder and the huge absence of Dieumerci Mbokani.
The less severe ones include Harry Maguire, Evandro Goebel, Michael Dawson, Curtis Davies, Ryan Mason and Brian Lenihan.
Predicted Line-up
Leicester City- Schmeichel; Fuchs, Huth, Morgan, Simpson; Ndidi, Drinkwater; Albrighton, Okazaki, Mahrez; Vardy
Hull City- Jakupovic; Robertson, Maguire, Ranocchia, Elabdellaoui; N’Diaye. Huddlestone; Grosicki, Meyler, Markovic; Niasse
Key Players
Leicester City- Jamie Vardy will obviously lead the Foxes’ attack. The striker bagged two goals in their last game against Liverpool and hopefully have got back the mojo that was missing so far this season. Islam Slimani has been rested for long owing to this ankle injury. He was on the bench in the last game and is expected to feature this time. He has been Leicester’s most clinical striker so far this season.
Hull City- With Mbokani out with yet another injury, manager Marco Silva will highly rely on his strikers Oumar Niasse and Abel Hernandez. The Everton loanee has been hugely impressive since arriving at Goodison Park and will have the task of drawing first blood.
