Neymar has been earlier linked with Manchester United as the England club went very close to signing him but the Brazilian decided to stay at the Nou Camp signing a new lucrative contract. But recently the player has expressed his interest to ply his trade in the Premier League. He also didn’t hide his admiration for Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal and this could be the hint for a possible transfer to arguably the most competitive league in the world.
The 25-year-old has failed to some extent to replicate his form of last season. The Brazilian has recorded just eight goals to his name in the La Liga. Neymar has a release clause of 200 million euros for the first year of his contract, 222 million for the second and 250 million for the remaining three years, according to the Catalans which might sound odd but if the player decides to move, a middle ground can certainly be thrashed out.
If Neymar does choose to test his capability in the Premier League, here are the two potential clubs he could join.
Manchester United
One of the wealthiest clubs in the world and they have the capability to pursue this transfer. Mourinho has been searching for a suitable replacement for Wayne Rooney who might leave the club at the end of this season. According to reports, Mourinho has been in constant contact with the Brazilian and is trying to persuade the player for a move to Old Trafford. He had earlier tried to sign him when he was in the charge of Real Madrid. Neymar is also currently going through a legal trial relating to his transfer and this could also be the reason that he is reconsidering his future.
Chelsea
Antonio Conte is on his way towards his maiden Premier League title in his debut season and he will be handed a major transfer kitty in the next season to land his primary targets. Neymar signed a new five-year deal last October to extend his stay but that doesn’t stop other clubs from enticing the player. Real Madrid has been targeting Eden Hazard for a long time and his departure will leave a huge void on the left side. Neymar is one of the most prolific goal scorers in world football and his arrival would strengthen the Blues in a much larger way as they will be competing in the Uefa Champions League next season.
