Manchester United have won the FA Cup a record 12 times along with Arsenal while the West London side have managed to win it for a paltry six times. The arrival of Antonio Conte has shown the path of revival for the Blues who are on their way towards their sixth Premier League crown. The Italian has successfully implemented the 3-4-3 formation which has earned praise globally.
On the other hand, Jose Mourinho has been far from his usual best. The Red Devils somehow lacked that x-factor in their game but still, he became the first United manager to win a trophy in his maiden season as they defeated Southampton 3-2 in the EFL Cup final. While Chelsea have been on top of the Premier League, United are languishing in the sixth place.
Here is the combined lineup of this high-voltage clash.
Manager- Antonio Conte
Since he took the charge, the body language of the entire team has changed and his arrival has brought a fresh vibe to the side. A very passionate manager, Conte, has worked wonders with this Chelsea team.
Goalkeeper- David De Gea
The Spaniard was United’s last season’s saviour and has been pretty impressive this season too. Except for a few minor mistakes the 26-year-old continues to be one of the best shot-stoppers of Europe.
Left Back- Marcos Alonso
One of the best defenders of this season for Chelsea. Conte has deployed him in the new wing-back role and he has thrived in this position and has been a regular in his side.
Right Back- Antonio Valencia
Basically a right winger, the Ecuadorian international has been an important player and has fitted in on the right side of the defence perfectly. His agility and marauding runs have often caused problems to the opponent defence.
Centre back- David Luiz
He has been error-prone in recent outings with the club but the Brazilian has surprised everyone with his displays this season.
Centre Back- Cesar Azpilicueta
One of the most consistent and tireless defenders in the Chelsea team.
CDM- Michael Carrick
The veteran midfielder is one of the reasons why United’s performance have been so good. Sitting deep, Carrick controls the entire game from the midfield.
CM- N’Golo Kante
He has been a revelation since his arrival at the Stamford Bridge. He has fitted into Conte’s system perfectly.
LAM- Eden Hazard
The Belgian is currently having a stellar season and has racked up 11 goals in the English top tier.
CAM-Henrikh Mkhitaryan
The Armenian playmaker didn’t have the best of starts but has gradually become an inevitable part of Mourinho’s side.
RAM- Pedro
Arguably one of the most hard working players for Chelsea. The Spaniard has taken Willian’s place in the starting lineup.
FWD- Diego Costa
There have been speculations that he might leave Chelsea but the 28-year-old has answered his critics by scoring regularly in style.
