Every transfer window throws up a favourite candidate, who has been breathtaking that far; whose signature is cherished by numerous European giants and the fight is expected to be among astronomical figures. This upcoming summer transfer window undoubtedly belongs to Serie A side Torino forward Andrea Belotti.
The 23-year-old has garnered the reputation of that of a prolific goal scorer and the most lethal forward at the moment and consequently, many suitors have started flocking in. His latest feat is an eight-minute hat-trick in Torino’s 3-1 win over Palermo at the weekend. It has taken his tally to 22 goals in 24 Serie A games.
The club is well aware of his scenario and reportedly the club president Urbano Cairo has suggested labelling the striker at a staggering €150m (£130m). His release clause is however set at £86m, and any club can opt to land the player if they are willing to cough up the huge fee in summer. Premier League is surely one of the hot bed of such high-end arrivals and we have put up three clubs, who could end up getting his signature-
Manchester United- Despite spending huge amounts last summer, Jose Mourinho has found his team struggling to move up from the sixth position in the league table. And with dreams of the domestic title now out of the equation, the Red Devils have already started planning for the next summer. Belotti, surely, is high on their transfer targets and any kind of failure to land Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann could lead the former Premier League champions to the Italian’s way.
Although direct rivals Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane, is also on their shopping list, a move from White Hart Lane to Old Trafford looks highly unlikely and United could well be ready to meet Belotti’s release clause.
Manchester City- The Citizens are the newest horse to join the race for him. Pep Guardiola hasn’t had the best of seasons this year and has huge plans for an overhaul this summer.
And with increasing reports of Sergio Aguero being linked away from the Etihad Stadium, the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss has every chance of turning towards the 23-year-old.
Arsenal- Now, Arsenal are not known for a knack of over splashing in the transfer windows but this time could be different. From what seems to end like yet another trophyless season under manager Arsene Wenger, the club is looking to change its managerial staffs as well as players. Their star forward, Alexis Sanchez, has been linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium in the past few weeks and his sale is bound to bring in huge funds. And Belotti looks like his perfect replacement.
