If reports are to be believed, Arsenal’s number one target for the upcoming summer transfer window, Lorenzo Insigne, is set to snub the Gunners by signing a new contract extension with Serie A outfit, Napoli. Earlier, reports emerged that the representatives of the player and the club failed to agree on a new salary, but now the winger is on the verge of agreeing fresh terms.
With Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain likely to move out at the end of the season, and Theo Walcott rarely finding form, Arsene Wenger will be desperate to sign a new winger, if he spends another season with Arsenal and hopes to win the Premier League.
Let us take a look at the three players who can be a fit in the squad for Arsenal.
WILFRIED ZAHA (CRYSTAL PALACE)
The player will surely look to move on to another Premier League outfit, if Crystal Palace are relegated at the end of the season. Zaha is a tested product in the Premier League and already has 4 goals and 6 assists to his name in the Premier League this season.
The player’s valuation won’t be that steep a fee and Wenger may be able to sign the player for similar value if Palace are relegated. The player likes to dribble and cross, which may help in feeding aerial balls to target man, Oliver Giroud. He does possess quick feet as well which will come in handy in tight situations.
BERNARDO SILVA (AS MONACO)
The 22-year old is currently plying his trade in Ligue 1 with AS Monaco and impressed against Manchester City in the 1st leg of the Round of 16 of UEFA Champions League tie. The Portuguese International would like to take the challenge of Premier League at some stage of his career.
The player can play on both left and right wing and has 8 goals and 5 assists to his name this season. His notable strengths are finishing and tracing back to help his team mates.
KINGSLEY COMAN (BAYERN MUNICH)
Kingsley Coman is yet to score for Bayern Munich this season after a brilliant last season. Standing at 1.78 meters, the French International is tricky attacker, but has started only 7 times this season under Carlo Ancelotti.
The only weakness the player possesses is his physicality, but he is worth a shot, given he is an unknown quantity to other top flight clubs in English football.
Arsene Wenger has missed most of his potential transfer targets too often and settled for panic buys. So it will be interesting to see how he approaches the transfer market, if Arsenal offer him a contract extension.
