A major overhaul is expected at Santiago Bernabeu this summer. The Spanish giants were kept mum by the transfer ban and when that lifts next transfer window, they are expected to go all out. A host of star players are on their list and while Paris Saint-Germain have sliced up some of the cream of the crop in the last two windows, Real are desperate to make sure they get the rest.
The Whites are in a strong position both in the domestic as well as in the European front, and they are making preparations not to go through the panic of a transition stage when players leave over the course of the next few seasons. While some aged legs are looking for a first team elsewhere, some are expected to depart owing to lesser first team action.
The latter category includes the likes of James Rodriguez and Isco. Impressive displays by Luka Modric and Kovacic have pushed them down the pecking order and both of them are moving out sooner rather than later. And Real are reportedly aiming for Chelsea star Eden Hazard to fill in their place. The Belgium international has again been in hot form this season after the Blue brigade’s debacle last season, and the Spanish giants have rekindled their interest in the fleet-footed winger.
Reportedly, Real Madrid are in talks with Chelsea over a deal for the goal machine. The Belgian has scored 10 goals from 24 games in the Premier League. He has been one of Antonio Conte’s three-man strike force this season and a significant factor in their position as the league leaders.
Spanish news outlet Diario Gol have claimed that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is willing to launch a formal bid to prize Hazard away from the Stamford Bridge at the end of the season. He is apparently working behind the scenes and is close to striking an agreement with the Blues to sign their star asset.
A product of Belgian side AFC Tubize U19, Hazard has come up the ranks of LOSC Lille before Chelsea picked him up in 2012. He wasted no time making an impact and scored nine goals in the first season. He has played 234 matches for Chelsea so far and 65 goals and 59 assists and was a key figure in their Premier League title charge under Jose Mourinho in the 2014-15 season.
Real are also interested in bringing in the likes of David De Gea from Manchester United and Paulo Dybala from Serie A giants Juventus.
