Hull City have developed into giant killers of late with the new Portuguese manager guiding the club to wins over Manchester United and Liverpool in their last few games. Their next opponents are Arsenal, who have experienced a slump currently and Hull have a realistic chance of getting a positive result at the Emirates, where they visit on Saturday.
Defence
Eldin Jakupovic has been getting the nod before David Marshall under new boss Marco Silva and the Switzerland international will have another huge task now at the Emirates. Conceding an average of 1.01 goals per game, the shot-stopper has been impressive so far in the chances he has got.
Andrew Robertson starts as the left-back. The Scotland international was a coveted player in the winter and the boss has done a good job in persuading him to stay despite the club being in the relegation zone. It shows the huge trust that the players have on the new manager. The right-back position is likely to be taken by new signing Omar Elabdellaoui. Ahmed Elmohamady has been quite a regular in that position, but with a natural full-back now available, he will see finally see some playing time in the midfield.
The centre-half pairing is expected to be Harry Maguire alongside new Inter loanee Andrea Ranocchia. The Serie A man already registered an assist and is looking to have a huge impact on Hull’s remaining games. With the skipper Michael Dawson sidelined with a calf injury at the moment, Maguire has taken his place quite efficiently.
Midfield
The Villarreal loanee, Alfred N’Diaye, started with a bang against Liverpool and we expect the Senegal international to continue his impact in the deep midfield alongside Tom Huddlestone. Huddlestone has been Hull’s old general with tonnes of experience and his physical nature will definitely be handy against Arsenal.
The attacking midfield suddenly looks filled with options for Marco Silva now. Lazar Markovic was ineligible for the Liverpool game but is expected to take his place on the left-wing at the Emirates. The former FC Porto player, Evandro Goebel, started on the right replacing Markovic but is expected to start down centre this time.
Attack
Kamil Grosicki started as the forward alongside Abel Hernandez against Liverpool which wasn’t that impactful. We expect the manager to have another go with him alongside Abel Hernandez. Sam Clucas didn’t start the last game and we expect him to start against Arsenal on the right flank.
Although Everton loanee Oumar Niasse has been quite impressive since moving from Goodison Park, he has been impactful from the bench and the manager is expected to keep it that way.
