Huddersfield Town are buzzing in the Sky Bet Championship this season, as they are right below the two sides who are in a prolific shape in the form of Newcastle United and Brighton & Hove Albion. After 30 games, David Wagner’s side have accumulated 58 points, just 6 points adrift of the nearest automatic qualification spot and outclassed Ian Holloway’s Queens Park Rangers in their latest outing to send their signal of the intent of getting into the Premier league quite clear.
Let’s not forget that they finished as low as nineteenth in the Championship last season and have taken marauding steps this time around. Their next challenge is to rattle struggling Rotherham United and here is the line-up one might expect the high-flying Terries to start with.
Predicted 4-2-3-1 Huddersfield Town Lineup Vs Rotherham United
Defence
Against Rotherham United, club’s no. 1 stopper, Danny Ward is expected to start with the gloves between the sticks. The 23-year-old had a busy day at the Loftus Road as he kept Holloway’s side at bay, making a handful of decent saves including a superb stop to deny Matt Smith in the second half and using his feet to block Yeni Ngbakoto’s attempt in the extra time.
The pack of four at the back should comprise Christopher Schindler and Michael Hefele right at the heart of the Terries’ defense, with Martin Cranie and Chris Lowe most likely to be stationed on the right and left back slots, respectively and the duo did have a decent outing. Schindler should take the captain’s armband as Jonathan Hogg is likely to miss out owing to the injury he sustained against QPR and considering Wagner is unlikely to make any substantial changes in the midweek fixture.
Midfield
Phillip Billing is expected to take Hogg’s role in the middle of the park, with Aaron Mooy as his partner to tee up in order to shield their backline. Elias Kachunga is likely to be stationed on the right wing with Rajiv van La Parra on the left, leaving the duty of catering to the role of a no. 10 in the hands of Isaiah Brown who found the back of the net in the first half against the Rs. Wagner is likely to fork out a 4-2-3-1 formation and Brown is going to play an instrumental role when they lock horns against the Millers.
Attack
Nahki Wells is unlikely to be replaced by the Terries up front as the 26-year-old was on the scoresheet this weekend. Wells has been good for Huddersfield Town this term, scoring 8 goals from 28 appearances along with an assist and shouldn’t be dropped for the sake of resting key personnel.
