Arsenal are in tatters at the moment with the players looking disillusioned and the fans once again calling for the Manager’s ouster. Their league campaign which like always was going along nicely without too many ups and down and was smoothly moving towards the familiar 4th place finish will need some doing now to be reached. Their main players like Ozil and Sanchez have had issues throughout the season and while Sanchez has not let the talks and distractions affect him, the same cannot be said about Ozil who has lapsed into a worrying pattern of ineffectual displays.
The hammering at the hands of Bayern Munich and the ensuing embarrassment has the power to derail their season totally but it is here that the players and Wenger need to get their act together and stick as a unit with an important phase of the season coming up. The Gunners will be slightly relieved that their next fixture is not against a boisterous Premier League team and their fans for an important 3 points but against a relatively lesser known and low-key FA Cup match against Sutton United.
While they won’t be taking it lightly, Arsenal are still expected to cruise through and the home fans at Gander Green Lane will be looking to savour every moment of this occasion and host the mighty Arsenal at their humble abode.
PREDICTED ARSENAL XI VS SUTTON UNITED (4-2-3-1)
DEFENCE
David Ospina is likely to be in goal giving Petr Cech an extended break. Although Ospina conceded 5 goals, he was still Arsenal’s best player which says volumes of their display as a team. Jenkinson is likely to come in at right-back in place of Bellerin. Koscielny won’t be risked and the centre-back pairing is likely to be Gabriel alongside Rob Holding with both of them good enough to stop a side who are in the 17th spot in the 5th division of English football. Gibbs is likely to continue at left-back.
MIDFIELD
Ainsley Maitland-Niles is likely to come in as one of the two players in the double pivot. Elneny is likely to partner the youngster as they will surely look to boss the midfield. Jeff Reine-Adelaide will look to get another game in the No.10 role and will look to impress the manager.
ATTACK
Danny Welbeck will start on the left flank and on the opposite wing it is likely to be Walcott who was not given a start against Bayern Munich. Up front, Lucas Perez is likely to start and let out his frustration on Sutton.
