Chelsea will look to continue their march to the title when they travel to the Turf Moor to face a Burnley side who have been fairly steady this season and will look to cause one of the biggest upsets of the season as they look to break into the Top 10. The Clarets have already pulled off a major surprise when they defeated Liverpool 2-0 at home and it was during a period when Liverpool were on top of their game. But they won’t be entertaining such thoughts before the match and will look to carry forward their manager’s instructions to the tee.
Chelsea, on the other hand, will be fairly confident and will look to stretch their lead at the top even more. Spurs, who are 9 points off the Blues, will be making the difficult trip to Anfield and there is a chance that they might drop further points which will be music to Chelsea. The Blues have been almost flawless till now discounting a couple of weeks right at the start and they are the overwhelming favourites to reclaim the Premier League trophy which Leicester City had sensationally snatched from them last season.
On paper, it is a one-sided clash but Burnley’s home comforts and the Law of averages are what stands between Chelsea and another 3 points.
PREDICTED CHELSEA LINE-UP VS BURNLEY (3-4-3)
DEFENCE
Thibaut Courtois will be in goal and will be confident of keeping a clean sheet which should be enough for a Chelsea win with the likes of Costa and Hazard at the other end. In the 3-man defence, the usual suspects are expected to line up. Cesar Azpilicueta will be on the right-hand side of the defence with David Luiz in the centre with Cahill completing the trio.
MIDFIELD
N’Golo Kante has been a brilliant addition to the Chelsea midfield and has been a vital component in their all-conquering march this season. He has brought in pace and tenacity at the centre of the park. He will most likely be partnered with Nemanja Matic. Cesc Fabregas is an alternative if Conte looks for a more dynamic approach. Victor Moses will be at right wingback with Alonso on the left-side. The 2 have been an integral part of their play, providing much-needed width and attacking thrust.
ATTACK
Eden Hazard will look to take off from his solo goal against Arsenal and will look to keep up the good form. Pedro is likely to be preferred over Willian on the right flank. Diego Costa will be leading the line.
