Celtic have vehemently dominated the Ladbrokes Premiership this season and have dropped merely a couple of points so far in the top tier of Scottish football. With an unassailable lead of 24 points, the Bhoys have destroyed the fellow Scottish sides and under the tutelage of Brendan Rodgers, they indeed appear like a team set to achieve big things. However, their setup might receive a punch in the summer transfer window owing to the knack of mega clubs, who are financially light years ahead of Celtic, to lure away some of their performing assets and thus, it is important for Rodgers to take some precautionary measures once the curtains of the summer transfer window lifts.
One of the youngsters the Hoops could plan to acquire in order to beef their attacking endeavours is the outstanding stalwart in the shape of Henry Onyekuru. The 19-year-old Eupen hot-shot has taken the Belgian First Division by storm and a lot of eyes have already started to incline towards him. What is interesting to see is that Onyekuru has decided to quit the Belgian outfit in the summer, which will put a team like Celtic on high alert. The former Liverpool boss wouldn’t sit idle and the Eupen sensation could be someone he could plan to lure to the Celtic Park and quite rightly so.
Onyekuru has mustered 14 goals in 29 games across all competitions and his attacking prowess has made him a household name in Belgium. What is so special about this talented lad is that he has the capability of plying his trade in any position in the attacking setup which would make him a perfect utility player for any big club. Further, he has blistering pace and can dribble past the defensive line of the opponents with sheer power and ruthlessness. The 19-year-old has a knack to bang goals and create aplenty for his teammates as well.
Nigeria has gifted the game of football some top class next gen superstars of late and with the way the scenario has evolved for Onyekuru, he certainly looks like one. Despite his tender age, he has shown immense calmness and assurance whenever he has the ball and his confidence has only been a story involving an upward trajectory. Celtic do have a chance to lure him and under the excellent guidance of Rodgers, his tweaks could also be amended to mould him a better and a complete player, for he does look like the next big thing in the world of football.
