Stuart Dallas’ comment could prove to be a worrying factor for Leeds United. The 25-year-old admitted after the match again Ipswich Town that they were very tired.
Leeds United were held to a goalless draw by Ipswich Town. Freddie Sears gave the home side an early lead but Dallas restored parity for the Whites just before the halftime to earn his team a crucial point. Leeds United remain in the fifth position just above of Sheffield Wednesday due to a better goal difference.
Dallas said, “It was important that we came here and didn’t get beat.
“Obviously we wanted to win the game but if you can’t win it then you’ve got to make sure you don’t lose and we showed again that we’ve got a great determination.
“There were a few tired legs and I think in the end we kind of settled for a point but it’s a good point for us and it gives us something to build on.”
Dallas had been struggling earlier for the Championship side but his late blooming has forced Garry Monk to start him in the last few games ahead of Kemar Roofe. The Ireland international has scored three goals in the last two months.
But Monk who already has Souleymane Doukara and Hadi Sacko in their ranks signed two more wide players with the likes of Modou Barrow fro Swansea and Alfonso Pedraza from Villarreal to inject some fierce competition in the team.
Leeds United are currently in the playoffs position and have a very good chance to qualify for the playoffs. But Monk has to make it sure that the players get proper rest as they still have a long road to go and any further injury in this time would be a massive blow for them.
The Peacocks will take on Sheffield Wednesday in the next match and a win would take them a step closer towards a playoff berth.
