Zlatan Ibrahimović doesn’t want to stop and wants to win more trophies with Manchester United. He scored the winning goal as United defeated Southampton 3-2 to lift the EFL Cup.
Zlatan, 35, scored his 25th and 26th goal of the season to hand United their second piece of silverware this season. He scored an excellent free-kick to open United’s scoring followed by a pinpoint header to emerge as the winner.
There were lots of talks going on if he would succeed in the Premier League but proving everyone wrong, the Swede now won his 32nd trophy of his career. He was signed to a one-year contract but has the option to extend it for a further year and United will most likely trigger the option.
Zlatan said, ‘This is what I came for.
“I came to win and I am winning. I just have to keep going, but the more I win the more satisfied I get.
“You appreciate it more the older you get. In the beginning it is more like fun, you don’t realise what a trophy means.
“The older I get, the more mature I get, the more I am surrounded by a winning mentality. It is all about winning those trophies. This is what I am doing. Wherever I have gone I have won.
“This is what I predicted. Everything I thought would happen has. I think the other ones didn’t see it. When I came here to show them what I saw apparently to many I could not do it.
“I keep doing what I am doing ever year. I’m enjoying the game. The only thing is I am enjoying it in England.”
