Zlatan Ibrahimović became the oldest player to reach 15 goals in the Premier league. Zlatan scored Manchester United’s second goal as the Red Devils crushed defending champions Leicester City 3-0.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan opened the scoring in the 42nd minute to give the away side the lead. Zlatan then doubled the lead immediately as he scored his 15th goal at the age of 35y, 125d.
Mkhitaryan was again involved as he fed Juan Mata, who added a third as United cut the gap to one point with fifth-placed Liverpool. Ibrahimović now has 20 goals in 32 games in all competitions but has refused to give up.
The big Swede said, “I have a target in my head but I will not say it, and we are not there yet.
“It’s something I do every year and it’s nothing new. I keep producing. I had 27 goals last year. The statistics so far have the same reach like the other years.”
