Manchester United are yet to offer a new contract to Ander Herrera. The midfielder has 18 months left on his current deal.
The 37-year-old has emerged as an influential player under Jose Mourinho and has started in 19 games this season. Alongside Paul Pogba and Michael Carrick, Herrera has led the Manchester United midfield and his impressive display has earned him a call-up to the Spanish national team.
United are currently participating in four competitions and will be playing in the EFL Cup final on 29th February in pursuit of their first trophy in the season.
The Spaniard hasn’t been offered a new contract but he is very eager to extend his stay, “I have nothing to talk about. Of course, if they want to talk with me, I will be very happy to do that. But so far, nothing.”
He further added, “We have three competitions to play for and in the Premier League we have to finish in the top four.
“We will not be 100 per cent happy if we are fourth because we want to finish as high as possible, but minimum, we have to be in the top four and fight for the rest of the titles.”
