Robert Lewandowski vs Laurent Koscielny
Lewandowski has been nothing short of brilliant this season so far for Ancelotti. Bayern have the perfect centre-forward in the Polish international, who is tremendously clinical in the D-box. He has scored 15 goals in 20 Bundesliga appearances registering 3 assists. In the Champions League, he has scored five times in six appearances. He is in the form of his life and Arsenal’s backline will have to work tirelessly to keep him from leaving a mark on the scoresheet.
Wenger will entrust his skipper Laurent Koscielny to take care of him. The French international has bossed Arsenal’s defence for the most part of the season so far and his game reading abilities and will to get his team going in tough situations.
Arjen Robben vs Kieran Gibbs
There’s no new threat with Arjen Robben coming at you. It is known that he will try his signature move of cutting in and before firing a curler. But, despite knowing his style, Bundesliga defenders haven’t been able to stop him on most occasions. He has scored seven and assisted four in 14 Bundesliga appearances. In the Champions League, Robben has bagged a goal and assisted twice.
Now, we aren’t sure if Wenger would play the English full-back ahead of the experienced Spanish international, Nacho Monreal. But given the amount speed and agility needed to tackle Robben and Lahm coming at you, the manager should opt to go with speed rather than experience.
