Former Arsenal defender Sol Campbell has claimed that Arsène Wenger has been making some mistakes which have been costing Arsenal for the last couple of years.
Arsenal were thrashed by Chelsea as the Blues humiliated them 3-0 at Stamford Bridge. Marcos Alonso scored a controversial opener for the home side. Eden Hazard then doubled the lead with a delightful solo goal while and Cesc Fabregas pounced on a Petr Cech mistake to pile more misery on Arsène Wenger.
If Wenger fails to win the Premier League this time, this would be the 13th year that he will be without a Premier League medal which frankly is too long a barren run.
Campbell believes that the Gunners manager used to have a solid blend of English and Foreign players but it’s been missing for the past few seasons. He said, “He’s almost gone away from what made him great.
“He use to have a fantastic balance between really good English and foreign players.
“A lot of teams copied that and used that and moved on.
“But he went a little bit away from that and I think he’s suffered from that
“With the youngsters coming in, paying off the stadium, saying that he can’t buy bigger players that kind of held them back as well.
“The fundamental thing is he had a lovely balance between really good top clash British players and a mixture of foreign players playing together, cohesively, making a really strong group.
“And I think he’s gone away from that.”
