Laurent Koscielny has apparently questioned Arsène Wenger’s selection policy after they lost 3-1 at the hands of Chelsea.
Arsenal’s defeat means Chelsea are now 12 points clear at the top of the table. It was their second consecutive defeat after they lost to Watford in the previous game. Wenger didn’t start Danny Welbeck and Olivier Giroud but the later eventually scored the only goal for them.
The gaffer preferred to start Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as Granit Xhaka wasn’t available following his suspension. Chelsea exposed Wenger’s strategy as they were torn apart by the table toppers.
Koscielny claimed Arsenal’s way to handle Antonio Conte’s man was not right. “I think we played some players in front of others and I think we should have played more as a team and there was space to do so. They hit us on the counter.
“It will be difficult now. Mathematically, nothing is done but we know that it is going to be very complicated.
“We need to come back to the quality of our game, our passing, movement.”
