Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny has played down a return to France. A recent report suggested the defender was attracting interest from an unnamed Ligue 1 club in France.
Koscielny joined Arsenal in 2010 from Lorient and is having his best season so far in the Red and White colours. The 31-year-old has gone on to establish himself as one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League.
The French international signed a new deal to extend his stay but according to reports, Arsenal’s recent performances have forced him to reconsider his future. Arsenal haven’t won a major trophy for a long period and their last trophy came in 2014 as they won the FA Cup that season.
But Koscielny denied such speculation and made it clear he is here to stay at the Emirates. “I have had no contact with a French club.
“And even if I had one, I would have cut it short very quickly. I do not see myself coming back to France for the moment. I am happy with my life on and off the field. If my family and I are happy here, this is the most important.”
