Antonio Conte has expressed his desire to keep Diego Costa at Stamford Bridge. The Spanish striker grabbed the headlines a few weeks ago for his training ground bust-up with Conte. He was asked to train alone and even was dropped from the Leicester City match.
Costa got a number of offers from the Chinese Super League and at one time Conte was thinking to offload the star for his tantrums. But it seems he has changed his mind and could continue with the 28-year-old who has already struck 15 League goals
The player was earlier linked with a return to his former club Atletico Madrid.
Conte refuted all the claims, “Diego is a really important player. The situation is very clear.
“He’s very happy to stay with us, he’s very happy to fight for the title.
On being asked if the player is staying or not he replied, “I think so.
“I see him every day and I see his commitment, his behaviour – he’s very involved in the team. I think he loves this club.”
