Burnley have been a surprise package this season in the Premier League having the fourth best home record after Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal. And although the Clarets have started expanding on their transfer budget (as we saw with Robbie Brady’s arrival last month), we don’t expect they can hold on to their star players next season.
Michael Keane- No matter where the Clarets finish in the Premier League this season, a move for this centre-half is definitely on the cards after his fantastic display this season. The former Manchester United youth product has been attracted numerous suitors with Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City, Everton and Tottenham Hotspur to name a few.
Alongside Ben Mee, Keane has been rock solid for Burnley and is one of the main reasons Sean Dyche’s men are still in with a realistic chance of finishing top of the Premier league table with only 12 games to go. The boss has reportedly started digging up other options in that position with Mainz defender Giulio Donati’s name doing the rounds. It has many to believe that Keane’s departure is imminent.
Tom Heaton- The Burnley skipper has led from the front this season. The 30-year-old shot-stopper has been impenetrable at times for opponents with one of his remarkable performances being in their away trip to Old Trafford facing Manchester United, where the Red Devils couldn’t barge in a goal despite having over 30 shots.
Heaton has been really effective under the bar conceding 33 goals in 24 appearances, most of which are away from where Burnley’s overall performances have been dismal. With top clubs like Manchester City and Liverpool suffering from the dearth of quality options in that position, it will be difficult for Burnley to prevent him from leaving.
Andre Gray- Burnley’s highest scorer, though he didn’t have the best of seasons so far, has shown the potential of what he is capable of with quality providers behind him. The 25-year-old has scored 6 goals in 20 appearances, but his work rate and ability to finish has caught attentions of many.
With only one year left on his contract, the player would definitely like to move out for better chances. It would be wise for Burnley to cash in on him while there is still time. Dyche has kept his eyes on Bournemouth striker Max Gradel for long and his departure might just pave the way for him into Turf Moor. Gray is in his prime currently and he would like to spend his best years in bigger clubs if there will be interest.
