Premier League outfit, West Bromwich Albion, had a decent start to the campaign, with their first half of the season ensuring that they find themselves in the top half of the league table. However, they appeared timorous against Tottenham Hotspurs on Saturday and crumbled like a house of cards as Harry Kane went riot. A forgettable outing at the White Hart Lane ended in a 4-0 thrashing of the Baggies.
They have looked frivolous ever since the dawn of the New Year and many players has started to wane. Tony Pulis is not unfamiliar to the animosity of the business end of the league, but has found it hard to get the right men for his side. It is true that Pulis hasn’t had the best of the transfer window, but it is reported that he is in pursuit of Hull City’s midfielder, Jake Livermore.
The 27-year-old midfielder is one of the better players in the Hull City’s camp which is caught in the doldrums and is struggling terribly. Livermore has a year and a half still left in his contract which binds him to the KCOM Stadium. There is obviously something spectacular about him which why Pulis is keeping him under his radar in order to bring him to the Hawthorns to bolster his squad.
The former Tottenham Hotspur player has a wide range of attributes which makes him a commendable asset in the league. He passes the ball meticulously well, works really hard on the pitch, offers solid resilience in the middle of the park, is tidy in possession, never refrains from shooting when there are genuine goal-scoring opportunities and knits the team together with his appreciable football brain and work-ethic.
So far this season, he has featured in every of the Tigers’ games, scoring a goal and assisting one as well. The Englishman breaks up opponent’s play by using his physicality and forceful nature. He has also registered 48 tackles, completed 913 passes with an average pass accuracy of 85% and created 9 chances, which shows that he is unarguably a vital cog in Marco Silva’s unit.
West Bromwich Albion are unlikely to get relegated this season, though the scenes at KCOM Stadium are quite the opposite. If Pulis places a right deal on the table, Hull City might be tempted to sell Livermore and let us also consider that the midfielder might personally to be tempted to force the move in order to make his career remain averse to stagnation.
