Schalke have rejected Chelsea’s attempt to sign Sead Kolasinac. The 23-year-old has been a long-term target for Antonio Conte.
Kolasinac’s contract is scheduled to expire at the end of the season and he hasn’t signed a new contract. Schalke might lose the defender for free if he fails to sign on the dotted line. Juventus have been also trying to secure the signing of the player.
Schalke could have used this opportunity to cash in on the player as the Bosnia International is capable of playing on the left side of the defence and midfield and can also be deployed in the heart of backline. With his marauding runs, he often creates problems for the opponent teams.
Schalke sporting executive Christian Heidel confirmed an offer from the Blues, “Yes, there was an approach [from Chelsea], but it was off the table immediately.”
With the transfer window set to end in few hours, Chelsea might make a last-gasp attempt to sign the wingback.
