Queens Park Rangers have been a side who have been loitering between the top tier and second tier of English football: in brief, a side caught in the doldrums which sway amidst the jovialness of promotion and then has to deal with the frustrations of relegation. Being placed 17th in the Sky Bet Championship table at the moment, their anecdote so far elucidates helplessness more than anything else and not to mention, Premier League is a distant dream for the Hoops.
The dearth of attacking flamboyance and inability in finding the back of the net has been a major talking point for QPR this term as they have mustered merely 26 goals in 27 league outings and no wonder why they are ranked so inferiorly. Their latest demoralising defeat at the hands of Burton Albion has put another dent to their credentials. They have failed to deliver up front, leaving a lot to be desired. However, Ian Holloway has apparently put Preston North End’s forward Callum Robinson under his radar in order to solve his offensive woes.
The 21-year-old is in a red-hot form this season, having banged 6 goals, bagged 1 assist and created as many as 30 chances for Preston North End so far this campaign ever since signing for the side on a permanent basis last summer and has never looked back since then. Predominantly a superb winger, the youngster is one of the hottest properties which the Championship has on offer, thus deriving interest from the R’s as well as from Fulham.
The former Aston Villa forward has the experience of plying his trade in the Championship and no wonder why he is valued as an appreciable asset in the transfer window. Despite being a winger, he has an undeniable knack to find the back of the net which glitters his aura to a huge extent. Although he is still in the early stages of his career, he has shown the mettle in him to bolster the attacking setup of a side like QPR.
Holloway is looking for a front man like Robinson, who can be stationed on the either flanks as well as an unorthodox central striker. The starlet has been a phenomenon campaigner and without any shadow of a doubt, Preston would be reluctant to sell one of their key man going into the crunch fixtures of the league which might very well dictate as to whether they would be promoted or not.
