Tottenham Hotspur will be a bustling bunch after their brilliant win against Chelsea saw them move level on points with Manchester City but edge them on goal difference. Mauricio Pochettino is well and truly on his way to make a consecutive bid for the title, something which the Spurs’ fans never thought they would be hearing after the habitual sale of their best players abroad.
But the Sherriff (as Poch was called) has done a tremendous job at the White Hart Lane. He has nurtured young talent and given them a break in the first-team and the result is there for all to see. Players like Dele Alli, Kane and Dier form the backbone of the team which has schooled the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea this season. They have the best fullback duo, probably in Europe and have the likes of Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Dembele, Wanyama, Eriksen and the list goes on.
If Pochettino can make his players keep their heads and keep them focused this season, they have the potential to push Chelsea and any prospective challengers right till the end.
They have a winnable match against West Bromwich Albion and with Liverpool playing Manchester United and Manchester City playing Everton away, will be hoping of finishing 2nd when the weekend action ends.
PREDICTED TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR LINE-UP VS WEST BROMWICH ALBION (3-4-2-1)
DEFENCE
Hugo Lloris will be in goal and will look to continue on his impressive displays this season. He has taken a lot of workload over the years and is enjoying a second successive season where they are serious title challengers. The back three of Eric Dier, Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen are likely to remain unchanged. They have the potential to be almost unbreachable if they perform in unison.
MIDFIELD
The fullbacks Danny Rose and Kyle Walker are being played as wing-backs or almost in midfield. The two has been their best players at times and are in the form of their lives. They will be eager to perform and show that the recent links to Manchester have not unsettled them at all. One of the signings of the season- Victor Wanyama will be in central midfield and will be doing the dirty work alongside Dembele. The duo has a playing style akin to Matic and Kante at Chelsea and will have a similar say in the title race.
ATTACK
Dele Alli and Eriksen will be the creators-in-chief behind the prolific Harry Kane who will be leading the line.
