Leicester City have been maddeningly inconsistent in the Premier League this season. After their title-winning campaign last year, they were expected to be a formidable side in the Premier League this season, but the Foxes have been seen losing to the weakest of teams in the league and winning convincingly against the strongest of the lot.
They were beaten by Everton a few weeks back in the Premier League at their own backyard and quite convincingly. And last week saw them ousting Toffees in the FA Cup 3rd round with the same 2-1 score line. Their next match is against league leaders Chelsea, who have been almost flawless in the past two months and given the Foxes’ record against the big four, they are clearly not the favourites for the fixture.
But again, where Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea in their previous fixture have thrashed Ranieri’s men without any difficulties, they have absolutely dominated Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium winning 4-2. Hence, it is difficult to predict how the Foxes would fare against Chelsea this time at home.

Defence
Ranieri will more or less go with an unchanged squad from their victory against Everton in the FA Cup third round. Kasper Schmeichel will undoubtedly start under the bar. It would take Leicester something really special to get the better of the Blue Brigade and Schmeichel will have to play a huge role in that.
Christian Fuchs started the game from the bench last weekend and we expect him to replace Chilwell on the left back’s role against Chelsea.
Robert Huth and Wes Morgan are expected to continue taking their position as centre-backs and Danny Simpson is likely to take the right-back position.
Jeffrey Schlupp is away in AFCON to serve his nation, Ghana, and Ranieri will hugely miss the right-back. He only has Luis Hernandez as a backup for the right back’s role at the moment.
