Ibrahim Afellay made his first start of the campaign on Saturday but he may sit this one out, with Giannelli Imbula and Glenn Whelan perhaps starting in central midfield.
The duo offers more of a balance and back to back matches in such a short span of time might not help Afellay a great deal.
Allen has increasingly been used in an advanced role and it is likely to remain the same against Watford.
ATTACK
Shaqiri is likely to play on the right wing and with Arnautovic back, will look to renew his fruitful partnership with the Austrian.
Arnautovic will line up on the left side having served his 3-match suspension. Peter Crouch may have done enough against Chelsea to keep his starting spot up front.
