Midfield
The absence of Luka Modric from the side owing to a thigh injury is a huge concern for Zidane. With the other option in that position, James Rodriguez, also out with a calf problem, the boss had to play more defensively in the midweek against Celta Vigo.
We, however, expect Zidane to play on the offensive this time.
Casemiro and Tony Kroos are expected to take the deep midfield position, where they will have the responsibility of going on the offensive and create chances when needed.
Isco will be given the playmaker’s role just behind the striker and link up with the wingers.
Attack
Cristiano Ronaldo started the game as the striker alongside Karim Benzema in the midweek and even bagged a goal. However, he is expected to return to the left flank against Sociedad, as Isco’s lack of defensive attribution on the wings jeopardised them quite often.
Marco Asensio has been quite impactful on the right flank in Gareth Bale’s absence and we expect the Spanish international to start on the wing.
Benzema will start as the centre-forward. The French international has five goals in 14 games so far and will look to add to the tally.
